Baseball Fans Relieved to Go One Commercial Break Without Political Ad
Raleigh, NC - Baseball fans in states with highly contested political races were relieved on Tuesday night when they got to go one entire commercial break without a campaign ad.
"I never thought I'd be relieved to see a Liberty Biberty ad, but here we are," said one fan.
"Shut the fuck up," a North Carolina resident yelled as he chucked his tv out of the window during the 23rd political commercial of the evening.
Experts questioned the tactic of annoying potential voters until they beg for an early death.
"Campaigns want to depress the turnout for the other candidate, but they risk sending their own voters off a cliff," said a political science professor at the University of Georgia.
It's unclear whether spending billions of dollars that could be better spent actually helping people would do anything to address the atrociously low number of voters who show up during a year that doesn't include a Presidential race.
"I'm probably not going to vote anyway," yet another fan posted to social media, which immediately got a ton of likes.
"Yes it's tearing at the fabric of society, but it's important for our candidate to win to save Democracy," said a highly paid consultant, on condition of anonymity.
Unfortunately, when fans went to check their phones during the brief moment of bliss, they were greeted with a text begging for a campaign donation.
