PARIS and RIYADH - After weeks of protests over the cost of living, French President Emmanuel Macron has promised to take definitive action against the perpetrators.

“Those who destroyed must pay; those who looted must reimburse,” said Macron.

But an investigation by The Observerer revealed that the French President is somehow not referring to the country's many billionaires, who hoard wealth via low wages and high prices.

"Billionaires are not the ones burning our favorite old buildings," said a stern Macron, when asked about his decision to target his ire on the workers instead of the wealthy people plundering his country's talent and resources.

Still, Macron is not completely unsympathetic to the protestors' pleas.

"I've come to the land where diesel is literally made, talking with the people who profit from it," said Macron while visiting Saudi Arabia.

Critics questioned the French President's visit to a country with a disastrous human rights record during such a tumultuous time.

"We're literally here to make the prices go down, which I've recently been told really affects the poor," emphasized Macron, before meeting with the government who assassinated journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

While fooling absolutely no one with regards to the purpose of his trip, President Macron has left the responsibility of handling the aftermath of last weekend's unrest to the Prime Minister (yes, they have both) Sébastien Lecornu. His 2.5 hour meeting with CGT Union leader Sophie Binet resulted in the call for additional protests and expanded strike on November 5.
